Exploring How to Live Meaningful Lives Through Interesting People

There are several wonderful combinations. There are peanuts with red hots, there are chips with salsa, Larry-Moe-and-Curly, Ali vs Frazier. Another great combination is friends, curiosity, and creating. The Interesting Lives of Normal People is a project taken on by three friends on their own journeys to be intentional people who build things to help others do the same.

This particular project was born from an itch Jake Smeester needed scratched. It was an itch to make something meaningful of his own alongside his family and his work. He hypothesized that he wanted to make a podcast but didn’t know what to make it about. Enter Ryan Findley and me.

We’ve been friends for two decades and find ourselves in very different life phases while experiencing some degree of this same itch. We dive into it together.

This first season is a journey into that itch. What is it? Why do so many of us have an itch? Is it valuable? Should we listen to it? Is it to be acted on? What should we all do with our own itch, and if Jake’s itch can be scratched by making a podcast, what should that podcast be about?

This is a podcast about making a podcast. Check it out.

Life in Half a Second: A great book about making things with haste that will last beyond you

The Interesting Lives of Normal People is a regular conversation with someone interesting. Our job is to ask good questions with a belief that on the other side of being asked good questions, everyone has a great story we can learn from.
